MAMM Kollektif
MAMM consists of Maxime Abbenhues and Mees Meeuwsen, based in Amsterdam. They found each other in their love for partnering, site specific work and risk taking. Their work explores the boundaries of dance and acrobatics. Maxime & Mees focus on partnering that is based on the use of momentum, not on strength, to move another body. They approach partnering through a playful process, building confidence and mutual understanding while allowing curiosity to guide the work. Emphasis is placed on listening between partners - creating a safe, warm and supportive environment with room for failure and enjoyment.
MAMM is currently creating work as selected Dutch New Makers (FPK) 2024-2026. Their work was seen in The Netherlands and internationally in ea. Korea, Italy, France, UK, Hong Kong, Finland and Germany. MAMM won Mittelfest 2023, YAA Award 2024 and was nominated for the Next Step Award 2024 and mentioned as ‘most exciting new development of 2025’ in De Theaterkrant.
