‘I close my eyes and see a flock of birds. The vision lasts a second or perhaps less; I don’t know how many birds I saw. Were they a definite or an indefinite number?’ (‘Argumentum Ornithologicum’ by Jorge Luis Borges)
Birding is a solo performance that invites the audience into a world shifting between reality and fiction, where elements of nature co-exist with memories, imagination and the unsaid. In this landscape, one can watch the character being created through a sequence of transformations, explore and negotiate with the terms of the ‘self’ and the ‘other’. Moments of loss and trauma are the composing tiles of this creatures’ identity.
