Bir kadın tarafından temsil edilen bu hareket, eros ve ölüm arasındaki organik, kırılmaz ilişki ve otorite tarafından zayıflatılamayan, ruhun, bedenin ve zihnin özgürleşmesi için çabalayan bir özgürlük mücadelesidir…
Lola Montez is a dancer and a courtesan from the 19th century. Here she is used as a means of speaking about the principle of freedom, sexuality, and position of a woman in art and politics. Lola is not only a woman, her hunger for power, possession, and ruling, makes her a symbol of one era, of liberalism in the time of complete conservatism. She is the movement represented through a woman, an organic, unbreakable relationship between eros and death, the wave of freedom that does not get weakened by authority and strives toward the liberation of spirit, body, mind…
Actress
Nevena Kocovic is an actress, she was born in Kragujevac, Serbia in 1994. She graduated in 2019 from the Faculty of Arts in Prishtina with the role of Irene in Three sisters of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. In 2021 she received a master’s degree from the same Faculty with the monodrama Lola Montez as her final master project. Some of her professional engagements are About Gilgamesh of Tijana Grumic (dir. Jug Djordjevic) and Cries and whispers of Ingmar Bergman (dir. Borjanka Ljumovic). Currently she workes at Theater for Children in Kragujevac.
Director
Djordje Nesovic is a student of theater directing at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. He directed Bertolt Brecht’s play Lux in Tenebris, which was his exam play in the third year of studies. In the second year, he directed a part from the play The lower Depths of Maxim Gorky. Lola Montez is his first out-of-studies play. He was a directing assistant to Miloš Lolić on the play Kaspar at the Yugoslav Drama Theatre in Belgrade in 2021, as well as to Kokan Mladenović on the play Summer Night’s Dream in 2019 at the National Theater in Belgrade. He won the Dr. Hugo Klein award for being the best student of directing in his generation. He was born in 1995 in Kragujevac, Serbia.
